Tasked with managing large and diverse vehicle fleets, many state transportation agencies continually seek new and better ways to reduce their carbon footprint without compromising quality or service. However, deciding how best to invest the state’s limited resources can be challenging.
With a fleet of nearly 5,000 units, the Michigan Department of Transportation conducted a research study to explore the financial and operational impacts of replacing existing equipment with low- or zero-emission alternatives.
