June 2–4, 2026

Indiana DOT hosted the No Boundaries’ Spring 2026 meeting in Indianapolis on June 2–4, 2026. The meeting brought together transportation maintenance professionals from across member agencies to exchange best practices, showcase innovative technologies, and discuss emerging challenges in non-winter transportation maintenance.
The meeting featured discussions organized into several formats:
- Roundtables: Topics included impact detectors on transportation assets, work zone safety practices, management of contracted maintenance work, road closure gates on high-speed facilities, innovative urban litter removal methods, and high school maintenance internship programs.
- New Innovations Presentations: Participants learned about Connecticut DOT’s apprenticeship and training program, innovations in asset maintenance and traffic operations, guidance for addressing homeless encampments on state rights-of-way, and the use of new equipment and technology to improve operational efficiency.
- Technical tours: Participants experienced firsthand INDOT operations through a visit to the INDOT Sign Shop and pavement preservation at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, highlighting innovative practices in transportation maintenance and operations.
